Outpatient Care in Washington State
Free by the Sea offers outpatient care and continuing support for clients who have graduated from our alcohol and drug rehab treatment program and live locally. The extension of treatment is ideal for individuals who want to maintain their sobriety over an extended period of time and need the reinforcement of a continuing care treatment program. Individuals reside off-campus and live their daily lives as usual, participating in treatment programs as recommended at the time of discharge or as determined appropriate by the client and their counselor.
Serving the Pacific Northwest, including Washington (Vancouver), Oregon (Portland), and Alaska.
Sobriety is the mainstay of addiction treatment, and success depends on a continued commitment to lifestyle changes, learning new coping skills and engaging with appropriate counseling and support services. Many people need ongoing support, even years after they stop abusing drugs and alcohol.
Intensive outpatient addiction treatment offers flexibility combined with a safe environment and structured program to help you achieve sobriety and reduce the likelihood of relapse. The services are especially beneficial for those who wish to maintain employment or who have family or school obligations that deter them from inpatient addiction treatment. By connecting you to local resources, we help you achieve sobriety in a way that fits your schedule and unique needs.
Our Affiliate, Island Counseling, with locations in Oak Harbor and Seattle, WA provides IOP (Intensive Outpatient Treatment) and Outpatient Treatment to residents of Seattle, Bellevue, Issaquah and the surrounding areas.
Benefits of Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment
Recent advances in addiction treatment have brought new opportunities to those living with addiction. In the past, addiction treatment was limited to residential programs. While many of these programs proved effective, individuals were often faced with choosing treatment over their jobs, education, well-being of their families and other responsibilities. Intensive outpatient addiction treatment achieves the same outcomes as residential programs, yet those seeking treatment are still able to maintain their livelihoods, attend school and take care of their families. Additionally, intensive outpatient addiction treatment gives individuals an extra layer of privacy that preserves their employment, personal relationships, and professional reputations.
Outpatient treatment programs are recommended for individuals with the following characteristics:
- Have family, school, and work-related responsibilities that deter them from seeking treatment
- Are able to avoid drugs and alcohol, including friends and family who use, while outside the facility
- Want to maintain privacy and anonymity with regard to their addiction and/or treatment
- Dual diagnosis services in the State of Washington
- Psychologist and psychiatrist on staff
- Long-term transitory living
- 30-, 60-, and 90-day programs
- Men and women in separate buildings
- Eating, activities, and classes are all gender-specific
